Hillary Bullock is a marketing and communications leader who’s dedicated to achieving social impact. Her professional experience spans more than 15 years working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, political campaigns, and small businesses.

Hillary seamlessly toggles between work as both a strategist and a tactician. In previous roles, she has crafted strategic communication plans, led organizational rebrands, garnered unprecedented levels of media attention, navigated communication crises, and designed sophisticated digital marketing campaigns. Hillary’s broad and deep expertise has made her a sought-after voice in the nonprofit sector, and she occasionally consults on special projects as time allows.

Hillary is proud to have been recognized as a Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky for outstanding service to the community, state, and nation.

She is a member of the American Marketing Association and is active in her local chapters of the American Advertising Federation and the Public Relations Society of America.

Current Role

Hillary is currently the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing for ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) + ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), a recently merged $40 million nonprofit in the education space. ISTE helps educators use technology to revolution learning, while ASCD equips educators to provide students with a modern, equitable, and quality education. Both organizations are headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area.

When she joined the legacy ISTE team in 2022, Hillary was responsible for shaping stakeholder experiences across websites, social media, and paid media/digital advertising. Following the merger, she leads social media, paid media/digital advertising, ad sales, and web improvement initiatives for ISTE, ASCD, and a new parent brand to launch in 2024.

Educational Background

Hillary holds a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from Transylvania University (Lexington, Ky.) and an M.S. in Communication from Northwestern University (Chicago, Ill.). During her time at Northwestern, she also earned Certificates in Crisis Communication Leadership and Creative Branding & Design.

Outside the Office

Hillary currently calls Louisville, Ky. home. When she’s not busy with work and professional development, you can find her listening to psychology podcasts, reading memoirs, exploring Louisville with friends, and learning to become a better cook.
